I’m not sure if this is more or less of a wakeup call than getting stuck in the regular ones.

According to google, 70% of adults are overweight. 3 out of 4 of those chairs should be the big ones.

It’s only funny until you get seated next to one of those plus sized folks in coach on your third connection of the day across five time zones.

According to google, 70% of adults are overweight.
I know overweight is actually defined based on healthy weight for a body size. But if you look at it as just “over” what is average, then most people who are medically overweight are actually “normal”. (Yay, I’m normal!) Soon people of healthy weight will be “underweight” statistically speaking.

Is that what those are for? I thought they were like settees or something.

Going by the “average” seems to lead down a dangerous path. I might only be the “average” drinker of my friends. But still, my liver could shrivel up and die.

I’m considered overweight and borderline obese (28.5) according to BMI while having around 11% body fat. There are limits to any of these systems.

I can see this being an album cover for an industrial band, whose name could be “Lardass”
I’ve been on an ohGr kick lately; can you blame me?

So you’re ripped? I don’t know what those numbers mean. But in that case I don’t think a doctor would call you overweight.

A Post-Industrial band formed by former Skinny Puppy frontman Nivek Ogre. Their earlier stuff features more conventional melodies and upbeat tones than other industrial acts like Nine Inch Nails, but they still utilize electronic tones and heavy bass effects.
They’ve come up a couple of times on Nine Inch Nails Radio on Google Play Music, and I really like how they sound. “Solow” is one of my favorite tracks.

BMI is just stupid. It was developed to evaluate trends in groups, not individuals

I have had numerous doctors tell me that I should “consider losing weight” Ripped would be more along the lines of sub-8% body fat.
I had a doctor once take a look at the data for my BP, (below normal for both systolic and diastolic) my cholesterol after fasting (lower than average) and my resting heart rate (55 bpm, athlete-level) and tell me that I would be in better health if I dropped 12-15 pounds.
I like doctors, I see them at minimum annually, but clinical and practical health are two very different things.
